David Francey - 2019

Sat. Oct. 5, 2019 at 8:00. Sold Out

Born in Scotland to parents who were factory workers, David Francey moved to Canada when he was twelve years old.  He spent decades working in rail yards, on construction sites, and in the Yukon bush.  It’s no wonder, then, he is now known as one of the country’s best troubadours, telling the stories of ordinary people in an extraordinary way.  He has the ability to capture the essence of a story, to set it to music, and to create an authentic and captivating song.  David released his first album, Torn Screen Door, in 1999, and has since put out eleven albums, including his most recent offering, Empty Train, in 2016.  Among his many accolades, David has won three Junos, received the prestigious SOCAN Folk Music Award (2008), took home the Grand Prize for both the International Acoustic Music Award (2011), the John Lennon Songwriting Award (Folk category, 2010), won two Canadian Folk Music Awards (2017) for Best Solo Artist and Contemporary Album of the Year (Empty Train) and, most recently, received his 7th JUNO nomination in the Traditional Roots Album of the Year category for Broken Heart of Everything.

We are thrilled to be presenting David Francey, once again, at the Original LIVE ON STAGE! Tickets on sale now online.
