The Grown Ups: Kids Who Wanted to Grow Up and Suddenly Grew Old: A group of friends with Down syndrome has attended the same school for 40 years. They have completed all their courses; many have been there longer than most teachers, and even their parents who used to keep them company, are no longer around. They always believed that when their parents died, they would be able to do everything they weren't allowed to do before: living on their own, driving a car, hanging out, having sex, being parents, getting married, and having a real job. Now they are sick and tired of being a student. They are grown-ups and want to be treated as grown-ups. They will do whatever it takes to keep anyone from interfering with their adulthood dreams."

Please note that this film is presented in Spanish with English subtitles.

Please purchase tickets to this event online via Eventbrite, or you can reserve your tickets by calling 519-886-8886 x 2427 or emailing [email protected]. All proceeds will go to support Bridges to Belonging and SHORE Centre.
