Asteroid City

The itinerary of a Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet convention is spectacularly disrupted by world-changing events.

ASTEROID CITY is described as a "poetic meditation on the meaning of life." Set in a fictional American desert town and its Junior Stargazer convention, the film brings together students and parents from across the country for scholarly competition, rest and recreation, comedy, drama, romance, and more. The film follows the transformative events that occur at the Junior Stargazer convention in 1955.
This is the newest offering from Academy Award winning director Wes Anderson, whose films include The Grand Budapest Hotel, Isle of Dogs, and The French Dispatch.

"ASTEROID CITY is a return to a balance of old: its mannered affect is evened out by a persuasive emotional undercurrent, a whispery poignancy that suggests the film actually means something...ASTEROID CITY evokes the memory of what it was to first see a Wes Anderson film, surprised and delighted by its singular vision of life on earth. The director's layered latest is his best film in years." -Vanity Fair
