Nocturnal Animals

"Tom Ford's first film since 'A Single Man' is another winner, an ambitious high-wire noir thriller with Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal in an explosive tale of love, violence, and revenge." -Owen Gleiberman, Variety

The latest from fashion icon and 'A Single Man' director Tom Ford tells a story-within-a-story: on one level, you've got a gallery owner (Amy Adams) who receives a violent, disturbing novel in the mail written by her troubled ex-husband (Jake Gyllenhaal). Within that, you have the story of a fictional family who finds their lives turned upside down by a terrifying chance encounter in the desert.

A harrowing thriller with style and atmosphere to spare — “David Lynch meets Alfred Hitchcock meets Douglas Sirk,” read one review after its Venice debut — NOCTURNAL ANIMALS is in line to be one of the year's best films. Expect year-end awards kudos for just about everyone involved. See it with a date (but preferably not a troubled ex). - Alamo Drafthouse

"The film once again demonstrates that Ford is both an intoxicating sensualist and an accomplished storyteller, with as fine an eye for character detail as he has for color and composition." - David Rooney, Hollywood Reporter
