Summer Stock

Presented by the Registry Theatre with an introduction by Judy Garland expert, John Fricke.

While her actress sister, Abigail (Gloria DeHaven), roams with a stock theater company, country girl Jane (Judy Garland) stays home in rural Connecticut tending the family farm. Jane sees red when Abigail returns unannounced, stock company in tow, with plans to convert the family's barn into a venue for the troupe's musical revue.

"One of the better musicals, largely due to the winsome singing and acting of Judy Garland as a country lass whose barn is taken over by a bunch of stage-struck screwballs." - Maclean's

"The classic number belongs squarely to Judy, as she's nothing less than sensational as she belts out "Get Happy." - Film Frenzy
