Trails in Motion

Trails In Motion is an annual tour of short films about trail running and ultra running. This year is the third edition of Trails In Motion, but the first time that it has played at the Princess. The films represent the most exciting films of the year for and about trail runners, shot in some of the most spectacular locations on the planet.

High quality digital cameras, light enough to take along on the trails, have made it more possible than ever for filmmakers to bring the exhilaration of the sport to the big screen.
Runners who like to get off the asphalt and into the challenging world of forests, mountain trails and open fields – and of course, those who’ve never done it, but want to – will thrill at the scenery and marvel at the achievements of the runners profiled in these films.

Highlights include a breathtaking attempt at the FKT (Fastest Known Time) in Patagonia, a look at Mexico’s famed ‘Triple Corona’ of high-altitude SkyRaces, a ‘performance’ by Swiss legend Anne-Marie Flammersfeld, and an in-depth profile of ultra runner Nikki Kimball (right) as she trains to take on the 273-mile Long Trail in Vermont.

In all, there are nine movies, making up nearly two and a half hours of awe-inspiring entertainment.
