Conversion therapy and social exile for being gay is the subject of two award-winning films opening this weekend. "The Happy Prince" by Rupert Everett and "Boy Erased" by Joel Edgerton are based on real life stories of gay men treated as pariahs by their communities. From 19th-century England to modern-day America, these powerful films remind us of the discrimination and persecution faced by gays both historically and currently.

We will be finishing Beautiful Boy and Old Man & the Gun at the Twin this week to make way for GREEN BOOK, which won the 2018 TIFF People's Choice Award.
