Bidding Starts Saturday for our ONLINE POSTER AUCTION! It's a Wonderful Fundraiser!

For years we have talked about our poster "vault" -- sometimes referred to as "the retirement fund", but now we're calling it "COVID relief"! The rainy day has arrived. For decades we've been collecting posters, but now it's time to let them go.

We have had a blast during this forced closure, tearing apart our poster room while we look for buried gems. Josh and Joel have been great as we separate the wheat from the chaff, sorting, tossing and cataloguing! Our first auction lot is ready to view. For those about to rock --or for anyone who loves music as we do-- you will want to feast your eyes on our incredible collection of mint condition, music-themed posters. Bidding starts this Saturday, so sign up now and get ready to bid! These posters are highly collectible.

We have posters for all tastes and interests, so keep checking in. Cult, anime, classic films, Canadian, films from favourite directors, animation, superhero... You name it! If it's beautiful and unique, we've got it. This IS a fundraiser: if you would simply like to donate to help the Princess weather this pandemic-storm, you may do so on the site, as well. This fundraiser will run into the new year, with more cool items to follow.....

...including SEATS! We will be offering SEAT SPONSORSHIPS and, if we raise enough funds, we hope to be able to improve on our existing seats. Sponsor a seat and get your name on a plaque!

At the Princess, we've always prided ourselves on being truly independent: we have never relied on funding or grants of any sort. COVID-19 has changed all that, albeit temporarily. There is no other industry that has been upended as much as the cinema exhibition industry. Even with a vaccine in view, the movie ecosystem has been blown apart and it will take months, perhaps years, to get back to "normal." One thing we do know, is that the Princess isn't going anywhere. Once we collectively emerge from this pandemic, the Princess will be here --just as we have for the past 35 years-- a place where we can gather and watch transportive stories together in the dark. A calming respite from the harsh realities of the world. How we miss this "wonderful life" of movies and our fellow film fans. We'll see each other soon and thanks for checking out our fundraiser. Have fun bidding on the posters and memorabilia! If you get a poster, consider it a memento of the Princess, which is now the longest-running cinema in KW, and the longest-running arthouse (under one management) in Canada. Long may [we] run...!
