Please join us opening night for the highly anticipated documentary about the Canadian folk icon, Gordon Lightfoot. In 'If You Could Read My Mind,' the reserved musician gave the directors unprecedented access to his private life and archives, revealing an intimate portrait of a complicated man. Director Joan Tosoni will be in attendance on opening night and will be doing a Q&A, so be sure to bring your questions. Tickets are going fast!

New at the Twin this week is the latest Shakespearean imagining from Kenneth Branagh, the delightful 'All is True,' which features a stellar cast (including Branagh himself as Shakespeare, Judi Dench as his wife and Ian McKellen as a show-stopping patron of the arts). We have 45th Anniversary screenings of Mel Brooks' audacious and hilarious 'Blazing Saddles' this weekend; a look at the life of sex therapist and media personality, Dr. Ruth Westheimer; and finally, a documentary on the "Michelangelo" of yoga, 'Iyengar: The Man, Yoga, and the Student's Journey.'

"All Is True is just what you would want for a Shakespeare biopic directed by Kenneth Branagh - it's touching and impeccably well-acted, with great turns from the director and on-screen wife Judi Dench." - Daily Mirror (UK)

"When it comes to Shakespeare movies, you know you’re in good hands with Kenneth Branagh. In All Is True, the British actor and director does double duty in front of and behind the camera, speculating about the Bard’s bittersweet final years. This handsome film is wondefully acted and clearly made with no shortage of compassion and love.

“Joyful in all the best ways. It’s completely and utterly beautiful.” -Alex Billington, First Showing

Many of us have fantasized about it; cutting ourselves off from the hustle and bustle of the big city and escaping to a “simpler” life out in the country. But as much as we’d like to get closer to nature, nature is not always the most welcoming host.

"While Joan's early years are absolutely fascinating, it is the refreshing concept of Dench's elderly communist agent that gives this drama its real bite and edge." - Daily Mirror

“A good old-fashioned British spy thriller with a bewitching female heroine (or anti-heroine, if you will) played by the excellent actresses Judi Dench and (as her younger self) Sophie Cookson, Red Joan revisits the incredible real-life spy case of Melita Norwood. It is directed with a strong sense for character by Trevor Nunn, the former director of the Royal Shakespeare Co.

45th Anniversary!

June 7 & 8! “Mel Brooks devised his most outrageous comedy with the brilliantly funny Blazing Saddles. Immediately setting the tone with a hilarious parody in the title song (music by John Morris, lyrics by Brooks), sung by Frankie Laine, Brooks swiftly proceeds to satirize every Western ever made.

“Castle in the Sky is an astounding animated feature written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki. It is an imaginative extrapolation of a reference in Jonathan Swift's "Gulliver's Travels" to Laputa, a floating island-city hovering over Balnibarbi. Miyazaki uses that to spin off a modernistic sci-fi fable with a subtle ecological message.

"Ask Dr. Ruth is this year's Won't You Be My Neighbor? Like that film, this documentary allows us to understand a prominent pop culture figure and their work in a whole new way." - Aisle Seat

Don’t let her small stature fool you. Standing at under five feet tall, Dr. Ruth Westheimer is a force. A pioneer in the field of sex therapy, she became a household name in the ’80s and ’90s. At 90 years old, she hasn’t stopped working—and still promises the best sex you’ve ever had if you listen to her.

"Jarmusch has brought the B-movie zombie flick back from the dead: this is a disarmingly intelligent riff on politics, parodies, and the futility of it all." - Film Inquiry

"Jim Jarmusch addresses the state of the nation and global ecological catastrophe in this deadpan zombie apocalypse movie that goes straight for the jugular by placing Steve Buscemi's racist farmer in a MAGA-style cap that simply states 'Keep America White Again'.
