May 3 - 9 | New! Penguins & High Life, more Aretha & Original Princess update

When it comes to the future of the Original Princess, let's just say for now that no news is good news. We hope to save the Original for the community: it is a unique and special venue to see a movie (or a concert), but the heritage building that houses it --and indeed, makes it special-- needs upgrades and repairs. These are the issues we are trying to work through with our landlord in order to secure a long-term, viable lease for the cinema. We hope we can find common ground. Your continued support during these trying times is so appreciated and important, and we have loved your letters of support (some have even been published in the newspaper!)

You can keep updated of our upcoming films by visiting our website's Coming Soon section regularly and reading this weekly e-blast. Also, we will post about new films on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, so please follow us on social media, as well. While there will be no traditional Film Guide for the Original in May, we will be showing the usual eclectic mix of films throughout the month, and we do hope to publish a Film Guide again in June! We will keep you informed. There will be plenty of good films for you to see at the Original in the coming weeks, so keep looking at our website.

Thanks all! Scroll on to see what we have on for you at the Twin and Original starting this Friday. Watch for limited edition, commemorative t-shirts, coming soon!

"Lord of the Rings allusions are the hook. Fans will enjoy spotting the references, but the real story is about a generation scythed down by war." - CNET

The Lord of the Rings continues to be one of the most-read, most beloved book series of all time, and with good reason. The level of thought and detail imbued in its pages gives it an air of authenticity that can make it easy to forget that someone actually had to make it all up. But what drove the man who devoted his life to the creation of this fictional world?
