FILMS SHOWING Friday Nov 23 to Thursday Nov 29

We sell advance tickets online for all our films

Cannes may have the coveted Palme d’Or and Venice the Golden Lion, but the Toronto International Film Festival’s top prize, the People’s Choice Award, has proven to be a major precursor to success at the Academy Awards. Over the last six years, every top TIFF winner has gone on to be nominated for Best Picture, and we're sure GREEN BOOK will prove to be no different. It opens the Twin on Wednesday Nov 21! The new Film Guide for the Original is printed and ready for close study! This week we open The Woman Who Loves Giraffes, which, with UW's Dr. Anne Dagg as its subject, was a huge hit at this year's Zonta Fest. Also opening the Original is Suspiria, Luca Guadagnino's (Call Me By Your Name) gorgeous remake of Dario Argento's 1970s horror classic.

"Proving again that he's one of the best actors of his generation, Lucas Hedges shines alongside Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe in this harrowing real-life tale of a gay teen whose parents send him to conversion therapy." - Rolling Stone

Joel Edgerton steps behind the camera for a furious drama about the hateful world of gay conversion therapy and a young man beginning to realize that his sexuality is not evil. Lucas Hedges, superb in his co-lead turn in Manchester by the Sea and a memorable part of Lady Bird's famously excellent ensemble, stars.

No screenings currently scheduled.

PG

"Go figure that the year's most outrageously harrowing action movie turns out to be an arthouse doc from National Geographic." - Boston Globe

Oscar Winner: Best Feature Documentary. “Free Solo is a National Geographic head-spinner from husband-and-wife co-directors Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin. It is extreme in the extreme. The focus is on Alex Honnold, a free climber who gives the finger to gravity every time he suits up.

"Colette" ranks as one of the great roles for which Keira Knightley will be remembered." - Variety

Keira Knightley stars as a 19th-century French writer forced to live in the shadow of her Svengali-like husband in director Wash Westmoreland's empowering biopic.

"It's unforgettable, as ravishing as anything Guadagnino's lazily captured in the italian countryside, as disturbing as any horror film you've seen this year. What Argento only pointed to, Gudagnino covers in viscera." - Paste Magazine

"Director Luca Guadagnino pirouettes far from the easy-living, Italian-countryside romance of last year’s masterpiece Call Me By Your Name for an arthouse-meets-Grand Guignol reboot of one of the freakiest horror movies to come out of the 1970s. And he pulls it off in delicious, gut-punching style.

No screenings currently scheduled.
