Is it just us, or is Akira one of the best movies ever made? It can't just be us, which is exactly why we're doing two screenings of the 1988 landmark animated film this weekend! Catch it this Friday, 9pm then an encore screening on Sunday at 9pm as well! It's not often you get to see this film on the big screen, so grab yourself advance tickets below before time is up!

Oct 24, 7pm. This film follows two homeless men experiencing a terrible Canadian winter whose only hope of warmth is found in an unopened space heater. They set out on a journey to find a power source, meeting various strange individuals along the way.

Oct. 30, 7:30. Come see this iconic German Expressionist silent horror film --routinely cited as one of the greatest films ever made-- presented with live music accompaniment by the VOC Silent Film Harmonic, from Kitchener-Waterloo.

Oct 25, 4pm. A corrupt policeman attempts to free one of his accomplices from a prison on the island of La Gomera. To do so, he must learn the indigenous whistle dialect of “El Siblo” from a group of local criminals in order to communicate with his accomplice. The film explores the limitations of language, as well as the ways in which language can be used as an act of resistance.
