The desire for live music is REAL right now, so we're helping you out with two amazing concert / music docs this weekend. The Talking Heads' 1984 live concert film directed by Jonathan Demme, Stop Making Sense, is one of the best concert films ever. The energy of it just builds and builds...see it on the big screen to fully immerse yourself in the excitement. Rush fans also are in for a great night on Saturday with a screening of Rush: Beyond the Lighted Stage in honour of drummer Neil Peart's birthday. The screening will begin with a listening tribute to their late, great drummer.

Juliette Binoche shows off her comedic talents in How to be a Good Wife (La Bonne Épouse), the 2020 hit comedy from France.  The film takes us back to the 1960s to show how far we've come with equality, while shedding light on how much more we need to do. Plus, it's a lot of fun. Starts Saturday and plays for 6 shows. Don't miss it!

Digging into cult and classic screenings this week; Hitchcock returns to the Playhouse with Dial M for Murder. Grace Kelly on the big screen in this classic thriller? Yes. Please. On Sunday & Tuesday, we have Kevin Smith's 90s iconic debut, which inspired a generation of do-it-yourself filmmakers: Clerks. Later in the week, Tony Scott joins forces with Quentin Tarantino in a one-night-only screening of True Romance. Could be a great date night? Get tickets now!

Not everyone loves Marineland. Winner of the Rogers Audience Award at Hot Docs Festival

Phil Demers lives in a bungalow across the creek from MarineLand, the iconic amusement park in Niagara Falls, where he had his dream job as an animal trainer for over a decade. He swam with killer whales and ran the show, until he quit and blew the whistle, making claims of animal abuse and calling for an end to the near 60-year-old practice of keeping marine mammals in pools.

A Hitchcock Classic... Returns to the Big Screen!

Just because they serve you doesn't mean they like you

"Kevin Smith's acerbic, authentic and peculiarly romantic debut is one of the funniest American movies of the 90s. Shot at night in the convenience store where Smith was working at the time - on a budget of $27,000 - Clerks is an era-defining portrayal of Generation X.

"If you've read the novel, it's a glorious adaptation. If you haven't, it's still the first perfect comedy of 2020." - The Herald

"You don’t need to have read Charles Dickens' eighth novel to enjoy this fresh, contemporary, provocative and brilliantly comic adaptation, which is a marvellously nimble and accessible take on his weighty and most autobiographical book.

Director Charles Wilkinson's evocative documentary beautifully explores how the artist Robert Davidson brought Haida culture back to its people.

In the 50 years since he carved his first totem pole and saw it raised on Haida Gwaii, Robert Davidson has come to be regarded as one of the world’s foremost modern artists. And yet, in the insightful interviews captured here, he retains a remarkably soft-spoken manner and a charming humility that belies what an influential figure he’s become in both the realms of art and activism.
