COVID-19. Our personal response March 13, 2020 The health and safety of our community and customers is first and foremost in our minds. Be assured that even prior to the WHO categorizing COVID-19 as a pandemic, we were already increasing our cleaning protocol at the Playhouse. We are keeping up-to-date with the current state of COVID-19 in Ontario via Ontario Telehealth and following government directives. This is what we are doing to keep our staff and patrons safe: • sanitizing high-contact areas inside the theatre auditorium multiple times daily

Opening Date Announced!

Be a part of history! After a year of renovations, at last, we are ready to announce our opening. Are you ready? We sure are! On Friday, March 1st at 6:45pm, we will be thrilled to open the doors to the public for our Grand Opening! We will be screening the Oscar-winning film, Cinema Paradiso, which we feel is a film that truly suits this auspicious occasion. Please register today!

More great news, Playhouse fans: The cinema is now fully Air-Conditioned! Now you can enjoy all the great movies we have on offer in FULL air-conditioned comfort! And if you really want to cool off, you can have an ice-cold beer, cider, a chilled Pinot, or Willard's ice-cream.  Going to the Playhouse was cool before, but now it's really cool! (thanks Wilson Air!)

We're thrilled that so many of our local politicians --municipal, provincial and federal-- will represent at the 8th Annual Canada Film Days, May 1st - 8th at the Original Princess. Starting May 1st, Kitchener Councillor Bil Ioannidis (@bilioannidis on Twitter) will be teaming up with old friend, David Miller, to introduce the 9:20pm screening of Bruce McDonald's THE HUSBAND. David Miller (@davidmillerA71), formerly of Kitchener, is the producer of THE HUSBAND & ALGONQUIN.
