Screening + Q&A: Temple of Love: The Erroll Starr Story

The KW premiere of "Temple of Love: The Erroll Starr Story", a short film produced by Vintage Black Canada & Digital Sabbath, with Q&A!

"Temple of Love: The Erroll Starr Story" is a short doc about Erroll Starr Francis, a Juno-award winning musician who grew up playing in bands around Kitchener-Waterloo and went on to make it big in the 1980s Toronto club scene, before disappearing from the spotlight. Through intimate interviews with Erroll himself and perspectives from contemporary industry heavy-hitters Tony "Master T" Young, Michael Williams, and Mark Berry, this film sheds light on the challanges that Black artists face in Canada and celebrates Erroll as an artist ahead of his time.

Following the screening there will be a discussion and Q&A with director Kyle Sawyer (Digital Sabbath), producer Aaron Francis (Vintage Black Canada), and Erroll Starr Francis.

"Temple of Love: The Erroll Starr Story" will make its Canadian debut at Toronto Black Film Festival on February 18th, and its US premiere at Seattle Black Film Festival in April.
