Opening this Friday is the Golden Globe nominated film, The Two Popes! Blessed with nominations for Best Drama, Best Actor (Jonathan Pryce) and Best Supporting Actor (Anthony Hopkins). Sure to garner Oscar attention, catch one of the finest films of the year on the big screen. Kitchener-Waterloo exclusive!

When we heard that Ian McKellen and Helen Mirren were going to be in a film together, we thought this would be a must-see film. The Good Liar opens this weekend, a fun, suspenseful and edgy film with outstanding performances from two master thesps! 

Get in the spirit of the season with Last Christmas, opening this Friday at the Twin! Set in London, it's a touching, romantic comedy (written by Emma Thompson) and starring Emilia Clarke from Game of Thrones and Henry Golding from Crazy Rich Asians. Need more of a Christmas fix at the movies? We got you covered this weekend at the Original with a Sunday afternoon screening of It's a Wonderful Life.

Golden Globe nominated films Joker (opening this Friday) and Jojo Rabbit continue at the Princess, and we love that 12 year-old Roman Griffin Davis landed a Golden Globe nomination in his first on-screen role! Joaquin Phoenix is just outstanding in Joker, so if you missed it at the chains your wait is finally over!

Dark Waters & The Lighthouse round out our programming this week, two great films from two of the best working film director's working today. Robert Eggers has elevated the horror genre with The Lighthouse & Todd Haynes does something different with the 'whistleblower' genre, both films are not to be missed.
