"'Lady Bird' is a perfect coming-of-age comedy for anyone who's ever had teenage wanderlust, fought with their parents, fostered a love-hate tension with their hometown or popped Communion wafers in secret." - USA Today

Nominated for 5 Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress. "Her name is Christine, but she calls herself Lady Bird (Saoirse Ronan), and she would prefer that friends, relatives and acquaintances do the same.

"Frances McDormand is phenomenal in this surefire awards contender from Martin McDonagh-it's a renegade masterpiece that will get you good. " - Rolling Stone

Oscar Winner! Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor  When Mildred Hayes’ daughter was raped and murdered, the Ebbing, Missouri police talked a big game about finding the culprit. Nine months later, there have still been no arrests, and Mildred (Frances McDormand) takes it upon herself to protest.

"Based on recently discovered footage, thought to be lost, of Goodall as she observed, studied and befriended the chimps in the wild, the film is filled with romance: for her work, for the chimps and for Goodall herself." - Sunday Times

Jane Goodall is coming to Centre in the Square in April. See the documentary first! “Three love stories unfold in Jane, Brett Morgen’s stirring portrait of conservationist Jane Goodall. The first is the director’s respect and affection for his octogenarian subject.

"Despite its serious subject - the refugee crisis hitting Europe - The Other Side of Hope is also very funny, never losing sight of the droll, comic upside to life, but never making light of tragedy, either." - Village Voice

“Finnish director Aki Kaurismäki is known for making the driest of dry black comedies that rarely put a step further than a Helsinki bar. His film are gems of poker-faced comic absurdism, full of expressionless faces and gloomy rooms. That’s still the case with The Other Side of Hope – but this time the veteran filmmaker’s mind is on the European refugee crisis.

"Recognition (and compensation) proved elusive in Lamarr's lifetime, but in this marvelous documentary, a brilliant woman - 'I'm a very simple, complicated person' - finally gets her due." - Village Voice

“Actress Hedy Lamarr’s beauty was far more impressive than her filmography. But as Alexandra Dean's eye-opening Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story shows, Lamarr's films were far from the most interesting thing about her. An entertaining argument that we should view the Austrian immigrant as an ahead-of-her-time woman trapped by the mores of the 1940s and '50s.

"To make a movie so bad it's good you need vision, drive, luck and obsessive vanity. Fortuitously Tommy Wiseau appears to possess all of these qualities, combined with a total lack of acting talent." - The Guardian

Celebrate 20 years of The Room!

“Tommy Wiseau’s The Room may be the first true successor to the Rocky Horror throne.  Wiseau's Johnny is the noblest of boyfriends and most capable of lovers. But none of that satisfies his fiancée Lisa, a wicked Jezebel whose boredom with Johnny manifests in a brazen affair with his best friend.

"Visually, it’s spectacular. Conceptually, it’s jaw-dropping to simply consider the effort that went into this.... LOVING VINCENT is itself an imaginative work of art. And what better way than that to honor its subject?” – Washington Post

Oscar-nominated: Best Animated Feature “Loving Vincent is a truly awe-inspiring portrait of the great Dutch artist that boasts the distinction of being “the world’s first fully painted feature film.” That means every one of the nearly 65,000 frames in this labor of love was rendered by hand with oil paints, following a style intended t

Dec. 14, 7pm, Original. (See the added show at 9:30, Twin.) "This play can be played without any age restriction. It will work if the chemistry between all the characters makes sense.
