"From start to finish, director/co-writer Iannucci delivers an audacious and insightful and ridiculous and hilarious send-up that reminded me of the classic Monty Python films of the 1970s and 1980s." - Chicago Sun Times

“Armando Iannucci, known to North American audiences via Veep but also the director behind Steve Coogan’s Alan Partridge character on British TV, does a delightful take-down of absolutist regimes in this black comedy about Stalin’s toadies all jockeying for power after the big man is felled by a stroke.

"Their picaresque journey, punctuated by campside evenings spent looking through slides of their past life, is going only one way - but these are outstanding performances, embracing age, by Sutherland and Mirren." - London Evening Standard

John (Donald Sutherland) and Ella (Helen Mirren) are an elderly couple dealing with elderly couples’ problems. Married for fifty years, they’re looking down the barrel of Alzheimer’s and cancer, respectively, and they're desperate to live a little, one last time.

"Annihilation's commitment to older psychoanalytic (and deconstructionist) models for the self and its inexpressible shadows makes this a readily accessible drama of emotion." - The New Republic

In a remote, uninhabited area, there lies a phenomenon called the Shimmer: an inexplicable border beyond which the laws of physics and biology go topsy-turvy. When a squad of soldiers investigating the anomaly is killed, save one, the survivor’s biologist wife Lena volunteers to explore the ever-expanding region and find out what happened.

It just happens to be clever, and funny, and moves as fast as a tyke on a sugar bender. If you squint hard enough, you'll also find some of the author's signature generosity and warmth, too. - Entertainment Weekly

Peter Rabbit, the mischievous and adventurous hero who has captivated generations of readers, now takes on the starring role of his own irreverent, contemporary comedy with attitude. In the film, Peter's feud with Mr. McGregor (Domhnall Gleeson) escalates to greater heights than ever before as they rival for the affections of the warm-hearted animal lover who lives next door (Rose Byrne).

“Catwalk: Tales From the Cat Show Circuit follows a season in the lives of two top cat fanciers, Shirley and Kim, and their prize-winning felines, Oh La La the fluffy Red Persian and Bobby the white Turkish Angora. Both are vying to be the year’s Best Cat. It’s a competitive world in the Canadian Cat Association.

“Late into the Japanese science-fiction pastiche Before We Vanish, an extraterrestrial visitor wanders into a Tokyo church where several children are singing "Jesus Loves Me." There's nothing especially scary about the scene as it plays out: The creature has taken possession of an earthly body and, for the most part, looks and sounds like an ordinary human male.

No screenings currently scheduled.

"A beautiful study of Zen Buddhism, and a powerful evocation of the dedication and courage needed to go on their particular journey." - HeyUGuys

Added shows at the Twin! “If there’s something a little counterintuitive about a documentary set in the zen-like sanctum of a Buddhist retreat – achieving a state of perfect mindfulness can’t be any easier with a camera pointing at you – this slow-burn study of monastic life rewards its subjects with a warm, insightful portrayal.

No screenings currently scheduled.
