Oscar season is getting close and our film selections this week are some of the best we've seen this year! Monos is new at the Playhouse this week, with screenings starting on Saturday! This is a little-indie-film with a massive scope and ambition, a film that the Toronto Star is calling "An intoxicating descent into anarchy that alarmingly suggests the bonds of civility are all too easy to shuck off." Love yourself some Judy Garland? This weekend is going to be perfect for you, or anyone who loves wonderful films with fantastic performances as we open the bio-pic Judy this weekend at the Playhouse. Renee might win her second Oscar for this towering performance, just judging from some of the reviews we've been seeing... We've been on such a Bong Joon-ho binge after we opened Parasite two weeks ago, and it continues on Friday with two final screenings at the Playhouse!
