We've got to thank you for all your votes that lead us to win The Hamilton Spectator Readers' Choice Awards as the Best Movie Theatre in Hamilton, in our first year in business! We appreciate the love, thank you for coming out to the cinema! 

Oscar season is getting close and our film selections this week are some of the best we've seen this year! Monos is new at the Playhouse this week, with screenings starting on Saturday! This is a little-indie-film with a massive scope and ambition, a film that the Toronto Star is calling "An intoxicating descent into anarchy that alarmingly suggests the bonds of civility are all too easy to shuck off." Love yourself some Judy Garland? This weekend is going to be perfect for you, or anyone who loves wonderful films with fantastic performances as we open the bio-pic Judy this weekend at the Playhouse. Renee might win her second Oscar for this towering performance, just judging from some of the reviews we've been seeing... "Renée Zellweger is phenomenally good in this captivating account of Judy Garland’s final London concert run" - The Guardian. 

The wrap-up to the iconic TV Show, Downton Abbey hits the Playhouse this weekend with a limited-run for those who haven't had a chance to see how the show wraps itself up! Make some time to catch what we think, is one of the best ever tv-show-to-film, films that we've ever seen. On Thursday of next week, Depeche Mode Spirits in the Forest hits the Playhouse for two screenings at 7 & 9pm! Live concert / documentary film coming in live to the cinema! We've been on such a Bong Joon-ho binge after we opened Parasite two weeks ago, and it continues on Friday with two final screenings at the Playhouse! Scroll down to get those advance tickets before it's too late! Still need more Bong? Well this weekend we're screening his 2013 sci-fi / social satire film, Snowpiercer at the Playhouse! If you have never seen this film, but loved Parasite, check this one out! Or if you have seen it and haven't on the big screen, this is for you! Get tickets!
