FILMS SHOWING Friday Dec 23 to Thursday Dec 29

Merry Christmas, Princess friends! The Twin will be open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. In fact, on Dec. 24th you can catch a sneak preview of FENCES, which we officially open on Christmas Day. Some critics are saying "just give Viola Davis her Oscar already!" because her performance (which she has reprised from her stage role) is so powerful. Denzel Washington knocks it out of the park, too, directing and acting in this adaptation of the beloved, Pulitzer Prize-winning play. This film is sure to win many more prizes in the coming weeks. Speaking of prizes... we have another contest for you! Scroll to the bottom of the newsletter to see how you can win a pair of passes to see FENCES.

Before we sign off, we just wanted to alert you to the arrival of ARRIVAL at the Twin. Directed "with searching mind and heart" by Denis Villeneuve, it's a beautifully human drama about first-contact with aliens, and certainly one of the only movies I can think of featuring a linguistics professor!
